AUTHOR GUIDELINES
1. General Information

JECIL publishes high-quality empirical and theoretical research focusing on early childhood education, innovation in learning, curriculum development, digital literacy in early education, and child development.

The journal publishes original articles that have not been previously published or are under consideration elsewhere.

All manuscripts must be written in English using APA Style (7th Edition).
-
Submission is conducted online through the OJS system: [insert OJS URL].
-
There are no submission or article processing charges (APCs).
2. Manuscript Structure
Authors are required to structure their manuscripts as follows:
Title Page

Article title: concise, informative, and no more than 15 words.
-
Author(s) name, affiliation, and email address.
-
Corresponding author must be clearly indicated.
Abstract and Keywords
-
Abstract should not exceed 250 words, written in a single paragraph, and include:

Research objectives

Methodology

Key findings
-
Implications or conclusions

Include 3–5 keywords that reflect the main topics of the article.
Main Text Structure
-
Introduction – background, research gap, objectives, and novelty of the study.
- Method – research design, participants, instruments, and data analysis procedures.

Results and Discussion – presentation of findings (tables, charts, and figures where relevant) and interpretation of results, comparison with previous studies, implications for early childhood education.
- Conclusion – summary and suggestions for future research.
References

References must follow APA 7th Edition.

Minimum 80% of references should come from recent journal articles (last 10 years).

Use a reference management tool (e.g., Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote).

3. Manuscript Format

File format: Microsoft Word (.docx).

Page size: A4, 2.5 cm margins on all sides.

Font: Times New Roman, size 12 pt, 1.5 spacing.
-
Paragraphs are justified, with no additional spacing between paragraphs.
-
Tables and figures should be placed close to the relevant text and numbered sequentially.
4. Length of Manuscript

Manuscripts should be 3,000–8,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.
5. Review and Editing Process
-
All submitted manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.
-
Reviewers are assigned based on their expertise in the manuscript’s subject area.
-
The review process typically takes 6–10 weeks.
-
Editors may request major or minor revisions before final acceptance.
-
The editorial team reserves the right to edit accepted manuscripts for clarity, grammar, and formatting without changing the content.
6. Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts are screened using Turnitin/iThenticate.
-
A similarity index of ≤20% is required for consideration.
-
Manuscripts exceeding this limit will be returned to the author for revision or rejection.
7. Copyright and Licensing
-
Authors retain copyright under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.
-
Authors grant JECIL the right of first publication while allowing others to share and adapt the work with proper citation.
8. Publication Frequency

JECIL is published twice a year (June and December).
-
The journal accepts submissions throughout the year.
9. Ethical Considerations

Research involving human subjects (e.g., children, teachers, or institutions) must include evidence of ethical approval or informed consent.

Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and sources of funding.

JECIL follows COPE’s standards for ethical publication and misconduct prevention.
